Trax Records original co-founder and Chicago’s original Queen of House, Screamin’ Rachael
Paris is one of my favourite cities in the world and I chose it to celebrate this special night for that very reason. Nuits Fauves is an absolutely beautiful club and I can’t think of a better place to have this reunion of sorts. Getting back with the people I grew up with at Trax Records, and sharing great new times with Marshall Jefferson, Robert Owens and Joey Beltram is the most wonderful high I can think of! I can’t wait to perform and I can’t wait to hear them perform! We had an office in Paris years back so, in some way, I consider it like a second home. The French have always seemed to embrace Trax Records and I love the people and the music there! I love Daft Punk, in fact Madd Wikkid, one of our newer artists, did an awesome electronic tribute to them ‘Brassft Punk’ using New Orleans front line musicians. And I especially love cool, underground French stuff like Spiral Tribe. The attacks on Paris just sicken me so if we can come and spread joy and goodwill, I know the night will be even more powerful and that is the essence of house music. I am also working with some wonderful French producers; in fact, Pour Le Plaisir will be adding some live percussion and instrumentation to my DJ set. And Didier from the French Band Space – who are celebrating their 40th Anniversary – will be releasing ‘Magic Fly’ on Trax. They have asked me to record vocals and I just might surprise the crowd with a little taste of that!
I’ve got a fun set planned where I’ll be playing some of my favourite classics, but also dropping new things from Trax as well. There’s even a mash up I did with Joey Beltram’s ‘Start It Up’.
It’s going to be a wild night and it’s going to be very fresh and real. All those who know Trax Records realize that the music is so special and magical that it can’t be explained in words, that’s why I’ve devoted my life to it. Experience it; don’t miss the night of your lifetime! The reason to tour now is to spread the love. Isn’t that what the world needs now more than ever? That and a little bit of acid house, that is!
TRAX Records take over Nuits Fauves in Paris on 29th July. Tickets here. For more info on TRAX Records live events contact MN2S Booking Agency.
